ULTRAVIOLET GERMICIDAL IRRADIATION
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) electromagnetic radiation, UV-C 253.7 or 254nm band is most effective at killing novel coronavirus SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19), Virus’s, Bacteria, and other pathogens, germs because its short wavelength is able to penetrate the cell walls of microorganisms and scramble their DNA. Also, UV-C is filtered out by the earth’s atmosphere and constitutes about 10% of the total electromagnetic radiation output from the Sun so microorganisms have no defence against it. UVGI on HVAC COIL
Bio-film growth is common in commercial HVAC equipments. The cool, moist and dark interior of HVAC equipments are the perfect breading ground for the microorganisms. Aeroshild’s UVGI system is proven to clean the coil and prevent the bio-film growth in it. As the UVC light of 254nm is emitted on the coil surface thus, preventing the growth of microorganism on the coil.
UVGI in HVAC DUCT
UVGI system are installed in HVAC duct to irradiate the small airborne particles containing microorganisms as the air flows through the duct. UVGI is installed in either supply or return duct in-order to eliminate the airborne microorganism. There are several designs in which UVGI is designed for disinfection of air they are 90%, 99%, 99.99%.

Upper room UVGI is designed for use in occupied rooms. upper-room UVGI uses wall-mounted and ceiling-suspended, louvered/shielded UVGI fixtures to confine the germicidal radiation to the entire room area above people’s heads and greatly minimizes exposure to occupants in the lower room. Effective air disinfection in the breathing zone then depends on good vertical air movement.
